WHAT IS DIGITAL SMILE DESIGN ?
Digital Smile Design is the most advanced Digital treatment planning system used globally by dentists and specialists to help patients achieve great treatment outcomes. Developed and supported by Dr Christian Coachman and his team in Madrid. Digital Smile Design offers a safe, predictable treatment plan in 3D, incorporating various digital technology.
Digital Smile Design differs from the conventional treatment planning process as it involves multidisciplinary dental experts from all over the world. Digital Smile Design first simulates the outcome of your treatment from A to Z digitally. Then Digital Smile Design allows you to TEST-DRIVE your new smile before the treatment begins. The treatment plan is then approved by you when you are happy with the result.
Other aspects of digital planning in the treatment include:
- Video to show ‘Smile in Motion’
- 3D digital designs using Natural Algorithms – natures beautiful tooth forms that look extremely natural.
- 3D printed models, shells and guides that create an accurate blueprint for each stage.
- Copy-Paste concepts – what you see is what we reproduce in the final result.
- Strong milled, monolithic ceramic and composite materials. Milling produces the best reproduction of nature’s algorithms.
5 STEPS OF DIGITAL SMILE DESIGN
STEP 1
CONSULTATION
We will have a good discussion about your concerns and what you would like to achieve. Using professional photography studio, DSDApp to design a new 2D smile. The 2D smile design allows us to better understand and communicate your expectation.
STEP 2
DIGITAL RECORDS
Once you have decided to proceed with DSD 3D planning. We will take a set of comprehensive digital records using digital photography, 3D scanner, digital X-rays, and a 3D X-ray.
STEP 3
SMILE TEST-DRIVE
3 weeks later, We will invite you to come in for a TEST-DRIVE of your new smile. We will perform a photoshoot of you in your new smile, in the photography studio. We then present the “New you” on TV so you get to see yourself from the 3rd person’s perspective. We will discuss the treatment plan in detail so you understand the road map on how we are going to achieve your new smile. This includes time frame and cost estimate.
STEP 4
START TREATMENT
Once you have decided to go ahead with the treatment. The next step is to book you in to start the journey to your new smile.
STEP 5
SMILE CONFIDENTLY
Once your treatment is complete, the important part is maintaining it and getting the most out of your new smile, you will be given all the information about how to look after your new smile.
